A bit about me...
Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is so rewarding. Not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends.
For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people you love.
Hello! I'm Becki, and crafting saved my life - quite literally!
After a busy, successful, but highly stressful career as a solicitor left me bedridden and in need of round the clock care when I was just thirty-seven years old, I felt as if life had dealt me a pretty rough hand. There is only so much daytime television you can watch before going round the bend, but I was unable to concentrate on anything for more than a couple of minutes at a time, so I needed something I could pick up and put down as my strength allowed. I had discovered papercrafting a few years earlier but had never had time to do much; I decided to give it a try again, to see if it would help me. As my interest was sparked, my mood improved, and my health started to pick up. The road to recovery was a long and hard one, but my crafting hobby gave me something to wake up for, and I began to feel that maybe life could still have something to offer me.
Three years down the line, I had moved from bed to wheelchair and had gradually gained enough strength to walk again. I was introduced to a lovely man by my best friend, and Alan and I married in 2009. Six months later, I won some Stampin' Up! goodies in an online prize draw and learned that Stampin' Up! offered the chance to run one's own crafting business. Having lost my career so dramatically, I was excited to think that maybe here was something new that I could do. At last - here was a chance to regain some much-missed financial independence!
I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for three years now (it is May 2013 as I write this), and the opportunity I spotted has brought me so much more than the independence I craved. I have made amazing friends, met incredible people, and learned, shared and laughed more than I could ever have imagined six years ago. The self-esteem that suffered immeasurably when my previous career was lost, has returned with abundance, and I am so grateful and excited to have this chance to love what I do and to share what I love.
I run regular crafting classes in Ipswich and the surrounding areas, as well as offering Stampin' Up! workshops, shopping parties and, of course, the full range of Stampin' Up!'s exclusive crafting products.
I'd love to be your creative coach and to share with you this amazing hobby which literally turned my life around. Whether you're new to crafting, or an experienced crafter looking for the very best materials, or whether you want, like me, to build a career around a rewarding hobby - then you have come to the right place! Do contact me if there is anything at all I can do to help you - I'd be delighted to hear from you!
